About CENTRA

CENTRA employs a diverse, well-trained staff with expertise in economics, political science, international security, military affairs, and technology issues, as well as in homeland security, analytic methods, and open source analysis. Our staff of over 350 professionals includes specialists with backgrounds in national security analysis, the military, homeland security, engineering, research and development, and many areas of the social sciences and humanities. Our managers have run large-scale programs advising US Government agencies on what the future may hold, including programs examining a host of transnational issues, homeland security, the long view of global security affairs, and the "science of surprise" as revealed in the emerging analytic methodologies of the past decade.

More than half of our staff members hold advanced degrees in fields such as political science, international relations, economics, law, engineering and the sciences, and national security. Over 95% of our employees hold at least a BA/BS undergraduate degree. Our analysts have served in a wide range of operational, policy, and analytical positions in the US Government and private industry, including the National Security Council, US Armed Services, Department of Homeland Security, and law enforcement.

Our personnel have outstanding research skills, academic credentials, and foreign language capabilities. We have area or language expertise on many regions of the world, and on countries such as China, Korea, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Colombia, Iraq, and Iran. CENTRA staff have native- or professional-level language capabilities in 18 languages and have worked and lived in over 40 countries. Our technical capabilities include the fields of electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, and aerospace engineering; physics; mathematics; chemistry; computer programming; and information sciences.

Our internal staff is augmented by a network of well over 2000 senior experts, including corporate executives, university professors, technical experts, and retired government officials and military officers. These experts help CENTRA provide complex, multi-dimensional assessments of evolving and future aspects of various regional and subject specific areas of concern.

CENTRA maintains a number of strategic alliances with other companies, and we have broad experience both as a prime contractor leading teams of large and small businesses and as a member of other vendor teams.
