Collaboration, Exercises, and Gaming

CENTRA offers a full range of conference and training support, as well as exercises, games, simulations, and outreach events that are tailored to meet individual client needs. We develop and support all types of exercises and games, including red team and table-top exercises, crisis and policymaking simulations, and full-scale exercises.

We develop and utilize interactive environments to bring together appropriate client officials with "outside" specialists in settings that may be workshops, conferences, senior advisory groups, or scenario-building exercises, all individually tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. CENTRA scenario-building exercises and simulations of, for example, trade negotiations or political-economic crises, have been extremely successful. CENTRA is skilled at assembling the appropriate experts, challenging them with focused questions, and capturing the results in written reports.

In the past several years, CENTRA has organized and hosted more than 400 conferences and games for the national security community, ranging in length from one-day seminars to multiple-day games and simulations. This includes HSEEP-compliant support for exercises sponsored by DHS, such as prevention and deterrence exercises focused on helping State and local officials train and evaluate their capabilities for incident preparation, analysis, and information sharing. We provide a full range of exercise design, development, delivery, and evaluation, including scenario development, MSEL support, and full logistical and administrative staffing. By matching client goals with the appropriate exercise format-from seminars and workshops to tabletop exercises (TTX), war games, and full-scale exercises (FSE)-we offer cost-effective solutions to meet exercise needs.

CENTRA has significant experience arranging conferences and seminars outside the United States, providing international experience and language capabilities to organize and support events in almost any corner of the globe.

CENTRA uses a wide range of simulation, visualization, and modeling tools to support gaming and exercise activities for our customers. Our staff understands how to harness such tools to maximum effectiveness to support the training goals of our customers. We also develop and host restricted-access Internet websites to facilitate controlled interaction between our clients and "outside" specialists, including virtual gaming and simulations. For example, CENTRA conducted an interactive simulation in early 2003 for the Pacific Pension Institute focused on the economic and financial aftershocks of the then-upcoming war against Iraq.

CENTRA works with experts from almost all industry sectors, including academics, scientists and engineers, authors, business executives, former ambassadors, former military and government officials, and experts from overseas institutions. CENTRA's network of experts includes over 2,000 exceptionally qualified individuals, each available to provide analytic support, conduct studies, and participate in events that CENTRA organizes on behalf of its customers.
